Can you get colours other than Natural and Carbonised?
Any other colour requires that a stain be applied. Unfortunately the pre-finished stained products are only a tint in the finish that can be scratched through. Our way involves direct staining of raw boards to ensure maximum penetration of the stain to the board and then finishing onsite to prevent any show through from scratching or marking.
What method of installation is better; Floating or Direct Stick?
They both have their strengths and weakness and we recommend you contact us direct to discuss the individual circumstances of your job.
What finish is used?
Ultimate Flooring uses 9 coats of high end Treffert finish with a limited 25 year domestic warranty. The finish passes to the strictest E0 level for offgassing and formaldehyde emission.
Speaking of VoC’s where does bamboo stand?
Nearly all bamboo finishes are able to pass to an E0 for the finish but most only attain an E1 rating on the boards themselves. Ultimate Flooring bamboo attains E0 standard for offgassing and formaldehyde release. Further, independent testing is conducted monthly to ensure this standard is maintained. As stated above most products will carry an E0 on the finish but without the additional steps in the production process they can only sustain an E1 rating on the board itself.
Why is Forest Stewardship Council Certification important?
There has been some concern expressed by various sustainability organizations that due to the increasing popularity of bamboo that it has become the practice to cut down existing forests and replant with bamboo. The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is an independent not-for-profit organization to promote responsible management of timber resources. FSC certification confirms our bamboo is produced from “old growth” plantations and that they are managed in a way to promote sustainability.

Simply put, because we do. We remain one of the few direct importers with sufficient belief in our product to “put our money where our mouth is” and install our own products. We are wholesalers, but primarily we remain a full service supply and install business. This gives incredibly valuable experience and expertise at all stages of bamboo production, supply and both floating and direct stick installations in commercial and domestic applications.
